It is an important task to cleanse hard disk drives, but the question is how long does degaussing last?
Degaussing is not a permanent solution. It can only remove the residual magnetism that may be present on your hard drive. There are no guarantees that it will last for a lifetime. It depends on how often you use your computer and how sensitive it is for electromagnetic interference.
